Welcome to the home page for the Houston Metro APA.
Here you can find out information about the APA Pool Leagues in the Houston Metro area and how you can have fun and compete in the world's largest pool league.
In the APA, Everyone Can Play & Anyone Can Win!

Join the APA!

While some membership cards require you to be able to jump the cue ball, bank it off three rails and sink the 8-Ball blindfolded, getting an APA Membership Card is much easier.

Having fun, meeting new people and playing pool is what the APA is all about. You don't have to be a pool shark, because in the APA -- everyone can play and anyone can win. The APA wants beginners and novices, because it is the AMATEUR Poolplayers Association. No other organization in pool gives ordinary players a chance to win a share of over $1.5 MILLION guaranteed cash and prizes paid out through its national tournaments.

How does the APA do it? It uses The Equalizer® handicap system to determine the amount of games a player has to win in order to capture the match. It allows a novice to win less games than a more-skilled opponent to win a match.

Vegas Baby!

Not only do we have fun each week on league night, but each team is competing for a spot in the Local Team Championship, where the top teams qualify for a paid trip to Las Vegas for the National Team Championship.  We also offer a singles program, scotch doubles and jack-and-jill formats, and much more.  All these formats are run at our National events too, so APA members are eligible to participate in all these formats, and we strive to get as many qualified for the nationals in Vegas as possible.
We have new teams forming constantly, so whether you'd like to join an existing team, or if you'd rather bring a few of your friends and start your own team, we're ready to meet you and have some fun playing pool!  Click on the Join/Signup button above to send us your info, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
